Vintage Janon Solid State Multi-Band Radio, model #2843, made in Hong Kong by Alco Electronics Ltd Measures approximately 11¾" wide, 4½" deep, and 8¾" tall. This portable transistor radio features multiple tuning bands — AM, FM, TV1, TV2, AIR, WB, PBH, and AFC — selectable by chrome push buttons on the front panel. The radio powers on when plugged in and picks up AM and FM stations. It has not been tested beyond that. The radio appears in good vintage condition with minor cosmetic wear consistent with age. The set includes tone and volume controls, a band selector, and a sturdy leather-covered case with a built-in carrying handle. It operates on AC 117V, 5W, 60Hz or DC 9V battery power (battery compartment shown). A fantastic piece for collectors of mid-century solid-state electronics, retro transistor radios, or vintage broadcast gear.
